I started True Natura because the cinnamon you buy at most American supermarkets isn’t cinnamon. It’s cassia — a cheaper bark from a related tree, mislabeled as cinnamon for decades and with measurably higher coumarin content than the real thing. The real cinnamon — Cinnamomum verum — is grown almost exclusively in Sri Lanka. It’s lighter, sweeter, and crumbles between your fingers. It’s also harder to find honestly labeled outside the country.

True Natura exists to fix that gap, and the same gap for cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, and Ceylon tea. We buy directly from growers across Sri Lanka — Hill Country tea estates, lowland spice gardens, smallholder farms in the Southern Province. Then we ship to your door, with the origin and harvest year on the label.

If you have a question about a product, where it came from, or what to do with it — email me directly at info@truenatura.com. I read every message.

Our Story

A spice + botanical specialist, rooted in Sri Lanka

True Natura is the natural-products brand within the Harker International (Private) Limited portfolio — a Sri Lankan company (Registration No. PV 00338032) based in Kandy. We were built around a simple idea: that Sri Lanka’s botanical heritage — its true Ceylon cinnamon, its tea estates, its smallholder spice gardens — deserves a direct path to global buyers, without the layers of intermediaries that dilute both quality and price.

Our customers are home cooks who want genuine Ceylon cinnamon for a sticky bun; tea drinkers who know the difference between BOP and OP grade; wellness buyers who care that their ashwagandha came from Sri Lankan soil and not a generic dropshipper. We work with all of them the same way: by being precise about origin, honest about what’s in stock, and accountable for every shipment that leaves Kandy.

Where it comes from

Sri Lanka’s natural geography, by region

Each True Natura product traces back to a specific part of the island. We don’t blend, we don’t relabel — we let origin speak for itself.

Hill Country (Central Province)

Cool elevations between 1,200 and 2,400 metres produce our Ceylon tea, true cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum), and shade-grown medicinal herbs like gotu kola. Cooler nights concentrate flavour and active compounds. Our Kandy facility receives directly from these estates.

Lowland Wet Zone (Southern + Western Provinces)

The southern and western lowlands — humid, fertile, monsoon-fed — are the home of our cloves, nutmeg, black pepper, cardamom, and ashwagandha. Smallholder growers, multi-generational, each parcel direct-purchased rather than auctioned through a commodity broker.

How we source

From the grower’s hand to yours

1

Grower partnerships

Direct relationships with smallholder farms and craft cooperatives. No brokers, no blending floors. We visit, we inspect, we agree on quality bands before we buy.

2

Quality control

Spices are sieved, hand-graded, and weighed at our Kandy facility. Each lot is tasted by our team before it ships. Harvest year is recorded so you know how fresh your spice actually is.

3

Global shipping

Air freight from Sri Lanka with full export documentation. Typical transit to the US, EU, and Asia-Pacific: 10–21 business days. We handle customs paperwork; you receive a tracked parcel.

Our Commitment

What we won’t compromise on

Sustainability

Small-batch sourcing. Recyclable packaging where shipping rules allow. No air-freighted perishables that arrive past their prime.

Traceability

Every spice batch is tagged by origin region and harvest date. If you ask, we’ll tell you which estate your tea came from.

Authenticity

When we say “Ceylon cinnamon,” we mean Cinnamomum verum — not the cheaper Chinese cassia that’s sold as cinnamon in most supermarkets.

Fair pricing

Direct sourcing means growers earn more per kilo than they would through commodity channels. You pay less than retail import prices.
