Supplement & Botanical Disclaimer
Last updated: 30 May 2026
These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
About this disclaimer
True Natura sells dried botanicals — Ashwagandha root and powder, Moringa leaves and powder, Gotu Kola powder, Garcinia (Goraka) — that have a long history of traditional culinary and herbal use in Sri Lanka and across South Asia. We sell these as food and culinary ingredients, not as medicine.
This disclaimer explains the regulatory context, what we claim and do not claim, and how to use these products safely. It applies to every dried botanical or “supplement-style” product on truenatura.com.
Regulatory context (United States)
In the United States, dried botanicals are classified by the FDA either as food (when sold as a culinary ingredient) or as a dietary supplement (when sold for health purposes with structure/function claims). True Natura sells these products as food and culinary ingredients. The FDA does not evaluate dietary-supplement health claims before products go to market; sellers are required to include this statement on any product that could be interpreted as making a health claim:
“These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.”
We include this statement on every relevant product page in addition to this dedicated page.
What we don’t claim
We do not claim that any product on True Natura will:
- Cure, treat, or prevent any specific disease or condition
- Replace medication prescribed by a qualified medical professional
- Produce specific physiological results (e.g., specific weight loss, cortisol reduction, blood-sugar control, etc.)
- Be safe for every individual regardless of health status, age, pregnancy, or medication regimen
We also do not make therapeutic claims in product descriptions, marketing emails, or blog content. If you ever see copy that crosses this line, please tell us so we can correct it.
What we do say
We describe products by their traditional use, country of origin, harvest method, and culinary applications. We share recipes and cultural context. We provide standard product information — weight, source region, harvest date when known. That is the scope of our claims.
Use safely
Before using any of our botanical products as a regular part of your diet — and especially before using them in larger-than-culinary quantities — consult a qualified healthcare professional if you:
- Are pregnant or nursing
- Are taking prescription medication (some botanicals interact with anticoagulants, antidepressants, blood-pressure medication, thyroid medication, and others)
- Have a diagnosed medical condition (especially liver, kidney, thyroid, or autoimmune)
- Are preparing for surgery within 2 weeks
- Are giving the product to a child under 12
Discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional if you experience any unusual reaction (rash, gastrointestinal distress, headache, or other unexpected symptoms).
Quality and sourcing
All dried botanicals sold by True Natura are sourced from Sri Lankan growers and processed in food-grade facilities. We do not add fillers, binders, or synthetic additives. Products are sold whole or as simple ground powders.
We do not currently hold organic certification on every product but we work with growers who use traditional, low-intervention farming. If a product has any third-party certification (USDA Organic, Fair Trade, etc.), that certification will be displayed on the product page.
If you have a medical question
We are not qualified to answer medical questions. If you have specific questions about whether one of our products is appropriate for your health situation, please consult a licensed doctor, naturopath, or registered dietitian. We are happy to share what we know about a product’s traditional use, sourcing, and culinary applications — but we cannot give medical advice and will not do so.
Reporting an adverse reaction
If you experience an adverse reaction to a True Natura product, please:
- Discontinue use immediately
- Seek appropriate medical attention if symptoms are severe
- Report the reaction to us at info@truenatura.com with your order number, the product involved, and a description of what happened
- Consider reporting to the FDA via their MedWatch program
We take adverse-reaction reports seriously, will refund the product without question, and will use the information to improve our sourcing and quality control.
Changes to this disclaimer
We update this disclaimer as our product line changes or as regulatory guidance evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
